Johnson County Fire Chaplains Association

Standard of Conduct

June 10, 2006

All Board, Staff members and Volunteers of the Johnson County Fire Chaplains Association, are accountable to the following standards of conduct:

1) Every member will exemplify holy living. The Lord Jesus Christ is the standard by which we are to understand and judge what a holy life is. We are to conduct ourselves according to the model set for by Him.

a) Every member will have a quiet time of devotion and prayer each day. The Johnson County Fire Chaplains Association is a spiritual work that cannot be successfully accomplished without the transforming power of Jesus Christ at work in each staff member's life. To ignore ones walk with the Lord is to deny the reality of the spiritual warfare that this ministry, and every member of it, is engaged in.
**b) All members will conduct themselves in a manner that is above reproach and that reveals an attitude of worship towards our Savior and brings glory to His name. He/she will abstain from any activities that do not reflect the purity and holiness of the Lord Jesus Christ.
c) No chaplain or other members are to meet or counsel with members of the opposite sex in any isolated place. All counseling of the opposite sex will be done with either the door to the counseling room open, or with a third party present.
d) Any verbal expressions or insinuations that could be interpreted as sexual harassment with anyone are grounds for dismissal.
e) Any homosexual activity is grounds for dismissal.

**3) Every member will be a team player. All members of The Association will exhibit a Christ-like spirit of cooperation and will endeavor to maintain an atmosphere of love and positive good will in our organization.
a) Each member is expected to pray daily for his/her fellow members at The Association, as well as for himself/herself. The ultimate good of the entire ministry will always take precedence over personal goals and desires. If any member determines that he/she cannot be included in, and support the goals and values of the organization, he/she will remove himself/herself from association with the Johnson County Fire Chaplains Association
